So what is the limitation of ownership on a digital scale? Let's say I own every wii game made. A serious physical copy. Friends, etc have contributed to my collection as they know it keeps me from going on a homicidal rampage. Well, I make digital backups of all my games. Good practice for such an investment.
I come home one day to find all of my physical copies stolen. Hell, I'm robbed at gun point whatever. Do I need to then delete all of my backups? Or should I offer them up to the robber before he leaves, as he is know the legal owner?
Insert your own scenario, but how does anyone know you didn't own all of the copies physically and legally in the first place?
