I believe it time to bust a myth about..

About DVD+R's of all brands. Here is a how to guide I made. If you follow this guide to the T, then you will never have to spend a rediculous amount for special media. I am using Sony DVD+R's right now and am playing backups. This guide also has a how to for WiU 1.1. I have read a lot of people having trouble patching or knowing when to brick block. This is what I have figured out. Maybe you won't have to waste DVD's like I did.

As far as DVD-R's. If you have a process that works 100%, stick to it. I guarentee this to be 100%, 1000 out of 1000 times.

Umm... I wouldn't recommend using DVD+R's, because I read somewhere on the forums that it eventually will Burn out the laser in your Wii.
YES! I finally finished my Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas port for Mac! I'm so happy

I thought it was the speed being to high. Granted 6x is a bit large. Hard to find a 2.4x. I haven't read that here..or seen it. Not saying it doesn't exist. Guess I'll test the theory. If I didn't have a relacement drive, I would worry a little.

The lazor burn out thing is a myth. So is the burn speed, if you have a decent burner and dvdrs you can burn a lot faster. Use DVDinfoPro to test your copies to work out the best speed for your setup. I use ritek G05s at 4x and have very few fail on me.

I dont mean to insult, but seriously.

Thats as asinine as people saying Vista sucks cause there 2nd cousin's boyfriends uncle's Mom said so..

I use +R's for everything, the quality of the media is more important then just about anything, but not using them cause "I read it somewhere" is silly..

I read somewhere too that aliens like to butt diddle people from the Ozarks, but I really doubt it's true.....

There is no need to insult people, one of our oldest highest members did some testing. A +r does strain the laser slightly more then a -r will. Insulting members is not needed sir.

Well, considering that original Wii games are more similar to DVD-R than DVD+R, It would stand to reason that DVD-R would have less issues. But. I say if it will play, then it's ok. Most DVD+Rs have issues running on the Wii, and a far less number of DVD-R's do. So, going by one person is asinine, but going by the ratio of people who have had problems to people who haven't is certainly not asinine.

You know, it's funny you say that. Vista has been marked a bigger failure than Windows ME. That is why Microsoft has pulled Vista and is about to launch a violent campaign for Seven. I have used Seven..looks like a polished up version of Vista and leaning strongly back to OS-X.

I did not makethis post to start a pissing contest. I just wanted to state that I have used all media claimed to not work in DVD+R media. All works!! Some people I read were having trouble with WiU. So I made a quick how to on it as well. The PDF file I made has a butt load of screen shot's on how to use WiU to configuring IMGBURN. I thought it would be a good contribution to some of the newbies. Granted I have very few post's in this forum..I'm like herpies..I'm everywhere!!

Just looking to make my small contribution. No more bricked Wii's due to region or update screw ups. My 10 y/o can follow the tut

I would also like to go on record that I know for a fact that aliens like to butt diddle people from the Ozarks.

In other news, I used DVD+R and have no problems other than an occasional 349. But I found if I set Gamma to always use English instead of Disc Default, it works better.
