    NUS for mac

Hey people. So I'm trying to get my old wii 4.3 to read games that are on DVD-R. I installed NeoGamma, got the DVD + no cIOS error 0053000 and learned that I will have to change the cIOS to base 56. I read that normally in my situation, one would get NUS Downloader, but there doesn't seem to be anything available for Mac, and of course now wii can't even connect to wifi since last month's discontinuation. Will I ever be able to play the game I have on the DVD? Can someone tell me how?! Thanks.

The easiest thing for you to do is to just go through our Softmod Any Wii guide. it gives you a set of cIOSs that is recommended, and one of them will be one with a base 56.

It's trickier to do it on a Mac than a Windows machine, but still possible.

Thanks llaffer. I am pretty sure my wii is already softmodded, as I have Homebrew and usb loader etc, but I'll try your method from scratch and hopefully I can get that ios56-64-v5661.wad

So I got ios56-64-v5661.wad. Should I drop that into the wad folder on my sd card and use d2x to install it?

Terrible trying to ignore our guides, disregard advice, and putting on that pirate hat... Mac or not.

Ok thanks for your contribution, nightstah. Look, it's obvious I don't know exactly what I'm doing, but I do know that my wii is already softmodded, so can't I avoid doing that all over again? My wii won't read a DVD-R. NeoGamma gives me the above error message I find out that is bc I need ios56-64-v5661.wad. I find the wad and try installing it and d2x tells me the TMD version is wrong.

The guide has directions for updating a previous softmod. Your statement suggests you failed to read it.

Alright, so I'm following the guide, but I can't find anything to help me at this point: I got modpack and put the folder on the root of SD card, but it isn't showing up when I start HBC. Any tips here?

We say to remod the system since it's easier than cherry-picking updates.

If you only put a folder into SD card, then you did it wrong. You are supposed to extract the contents of the .zip file to the SD card's root. You should have a number of files and a few directories (apps and wad) in that root directory.
