USB Loader issue after in game update **newbie**

    Hey there,

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section and I have looked through the forum but can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.

Basically I am new to soft modding and new to the wii. I managed to soft mod my console and have used USB loader to back up my discs to my hard drive. All was working well until my wife updated a game yesterday without me knowing. (To be fair I wasn't aware that in game updates would wipe the mod) ever since when I try to use USB loader it gets to the loading screen and then goes black. After I get a screen full of writing (dump etc). Am I correct in saying this has erased my soft mod? If that's right how much do I have to do to get it all back?

Do I need to download letter bomb again or do I just need to go through the setup and install? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Please give me the idiots guide to getting it back too as I'm pretty fresh to this scene.

    Look forward to your reply's

    Thanks

Yes. That wiped the soft mod.

You will have to remod it to get it back.

If HBC still works, you can start there to start the installation, otherwise, you'll have to letterbomb it again.

Check out the Softmod Any Wii guide (link in signature) for details on both of those methods (in chapter 1 in separate spoiler tags).

What kind of FAILGUIDE would offer no protection from system updates? Answer: a FAILGUIDE, lol

    Smile Thanks for your help

Thanks for your reply's today. HBC is working but I guess I have to install everything again?

I used a video from YouTube to soft mod my wii but after reading the guide on here I would like to start from scratch. Can I erase everything and start again? If so how do I safely go about this?

apologies for being a newbie with loads of questions but I don't want to end up bricking the wii and also the guide seems like its the perfect setup.

    thanks for your help

Don't delete, uninstall, or format anything.

Just remod your system using the Softmod Any Wii guide on top of whatever state your current system is in.

If you have HBC working, you can start there in Chapter 1 to get things reinstalled, or you can re-letterbox it, which ever you choose will work if you follow the directions as written.
