Neogamma disc error

I burned the disc (a Memorex DVD+RDL(Yes i Know)), with Image Burn, at 2,4x speed, but when i put it in my wii it says DVD+R/bad burn/DL problem error 03023a00, and then it says that my drive model is 20081219, and that its to new to read DVD-Rs, which sucks, but i burned it on a DVD+RDL, so it should work. Any ideas?

EDIT: My Serial number comes back with this answer for chipset:

• There is a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D4 on a smaller drive board.
• And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2R-D2A.
• Lastly, a 25% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip.

Is this bad or normal? will i need to do a modchip or hardmod? my wii is currently softmodded following Guides Bot instructions on this website.

It appears that you wont be able to use backup discs. You should go the usb loading route vs a modchip IMHO. USB loading provides a lot more options.

Ok, i had an external WD 300 GB hard drive, but when i plug it into the left/bottom usb port it doesnt work. Usb Loader GX and Configurable usb loader both detect it but say it's not responding, and the external hard drive's indicator lights show it's not getting any power. A Nintendo Forum moderator told me it could be done but he wasn't allowed to tell me. Can you guys help me out? Is there some kind of powersave setting for the usb ports, as my external hard drive needs continuous power.

Is it one of those drives that has two usb connectors? One for data and the other for power? No external power supply?

no, it just has one usb plug. Here is the model number: WD3200MLZ-00. It needs a power supply from the usb port.

When did you mod your Wii? Using our guide?

yes, using the guide posted by Guides Bots to softmod any wii, and i used letterbomb 4.3 and everything worked out good
