I've followed the directions to burn DVD backups, and I'm using MEMOREX DVD-R. Moved the "Mario Super Sluggers" .ISO and used IMGBurn to copy it. Finalized the burn and proceeded to use NeoGamma to play the disc. What in the world the program says Error, and then stating "DRIVE TOO NEW FOR DVD-R/DVD+R".
Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong, or is there anything I should know? Please help, I'm going crazy. :confused:

I know... but it makes no sense to me. If the drive is too new... how come it can't read "older" DVD-R's? How come it's a new drive since the Wii I have is first-generation? Any way I could solve this issue with my backups?
you must kidding right? it doesn't make any difference if it is a older DVD-R or not, it still a backup... usb load, stop the disc burning, you will feel better in the morning... and your old wii could read backups, new ones do not...

I was expecting a more mature reply; and all I get is links to videos of Bill Engvall (which I'm a fan of him, BTW) and what not?! Maybe I'm not seeing the "SIGN" here as you see it, but I was expecting a more PROFESSIONAL and TECHNICAL answer here. This is the very first time I receive a "kinda" negative or sarcastic response to a simple question, after having years of experience (10+) in forums and I could tell when reading who needs help and who's not helping at all.
I'm not an expert, but rather a NEWBIE in EVERYTHING when it comes to the Wii, even more naive than a 10 year old when it comes to this stuff (literally). Not insulting anyone, but I want a more honest answer... with NO SARCASMS, since I'm trying not to. I'm a 20-year ARMY Veteran, Afghanistan veteran as well, retired 4 years ago, and this is not the kind of answers I want to see when someone is really asking a question, regardless of knowledge. Maybe you guys are geniuses... but I for sure am not.
I don't want to see the "SIGN".. I want to know WHY I get that message (literally), and the steps to get rid of that (Step 1; Step 2; Step 3; etc... literally, and YES, I'm now (kind of) SARCASTIC, since you guys have been in your replies.) :(
what part of your "wii will not read the burned discs" do you not understand? all new wiis are like that, you have nothing special. it is a hardware limitation, nothing else. want to change it? get a older wii or wii drive, that is your choice.
Thank you Brian. After carefully reading your HAND PALM posting and the last one, NOW I have an honest, and kind of straight forward answer to my question. But actually, the answer I was really expecting was "Your system is probably an earlier version"; or a question like: "which model do you have?"... and so on. I didn't know I have an earlier Wii console. :( At least you've given me the "kinda" answer that my system might not me old enough.Quote:

only way to tell is run the serial number thru the wii drive database, and even then it isn't 100% correct. Think it was late 2009 when they stopped making drives capable of dvd/burned disc playback. Another easy thing is if the wii is colored (red/black/blue), it won't play backups. easiest thing to do is usb load and you don't have to fart around with finding out if the drive will read backups or not, the hard drive will always work (as long as the hdd it is compatible)
