Isn't that strange. Completely contradicts everything we say around here. Any idea which chipset your drive is?
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Database says 50% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip, haven't had the thing apart yet so dunno. Just thought it really weird cos burning fast is not supposed to work, yet after repeated plays all games seem fine. Is my kids wii going to explode?

Is it 100% essential that they are -R? I only just started burning wii games about 10 days ago and because I had no other choice I used +R. They seem to work okay...

I have been using Taiyo Yuden for years and I believe they are the best, bang for the buck, DVD blank media. Here is a useful guide to blank media.

    Maxell DVD-R

I purchased Maxell DVD-R on sale at a Zellers store. Burned game with IMGBURN at 1x. Game worked great!

So I take it that even if you have a really small scrubbed game you can't burn it to a CD-ROM?
