its more likely to be a compatability issue, not all games are equal, try searching for the game title and issue, it may need a different cIOS, have you tried a launcher with 002fix etc ?

I HAVE TO PUT MY HANDS TOGETHER FOR B_I_L_L_Y JEANS HERE, HE'S DONE HIS HOMEWORK. VERBATIM DVDs ARE BETTER MADE MEANS LESS STRESS ON THE LENS.

I've been using Vertabtim DVD+R for over 3 months now with minimum issues. Nothing wrong with DVD+R.

Burned around 50 backups all in DVD+R (TDK brand) without any issues, I burn images in Mac's Disk Utility at 4x. The only issues i get are slow or stuck intro movies in some games* but beside that they play very well.

Reason: Several intro movies stutter, apparently due to disc reading software speeds

I didn't have time to go out and buy Verbatims so I thought I'd give the ones I have at home a try. I burned the Conduit on Imgburn at 2x speed with Memorex DVD-R discs and it worked like a charm.
