Seeing how the original R4DS is obsolite I am willing to help people try and get their roms to work. I manage to make Mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside Story and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days to work. So if your having slight trouble just leave a comment and I will try to get back with you asap.

I have the 1.18 R4DS firmware that I got from the R4 website. I managed to get a working version of Kingdom Hearts but no luck on Mario & Luigi.
never had any probs with my original R4, got a 4 gig card stuffed full, everything has always worked first time
maybe i've just been lucky
What you have to do is install the YSmenu which is a different menu than the original R4. Check out GBATEMP for where and how to install the YSmenu
As for you spartan1195 you do NOT have the original R4DS. You have a clone version because the original R4DS only can handle up to 2GB cards.

thats what i was about to say. good spotting. it CANNOT handle sdhc cards, only micro sd. i got mine stuffed full.

And what sucks about the clone is that it slowly messes up the NDS. I heard some people that uses the clone over a long period of time, it messes the slot-1(NDS) cartridge area really bad.

actually its wierd because all my normal carts work first time but sometimes with my r4 i have to take it out and blow on the connectors in the slot, r4 or micro sd.
it always works eventually though. i never play ds games, i just use SNEmulDS.
