    DS L/I/XL ect L & R Bump button fix

Before you rip apart your DS and strip the screws trying to use something other than the tri-wing it needs, give this a try.

My son's Right bump button on his DSi and the Left on my other sons DS lite stopped working.. So I ordered a tri-wing and replacement buttons for both.. While waiting for the order I decided to scour the vast depths of the net for help on replacing the buttons.. I came across something that saved me a ton of time and my money as I returned the buttons after this...

Here is the common problem. Now the buttons WILL wear and sometimes DO need to be replaced but apparently a majority of the time just needs a good blow. (no pun intended but still funny! hahaha)

Remember having a original nintendo? If not then I just dated my self... Anyhoo. the game cartridges needed a good blow once in a while to get the dust and dirt out and then would play fine.. Same idea here. The contacts for these buttons apparently attract a lot of dust and fine debris gathered from pockets/bags/ or where ever its stored.. These dirty little things stop the contacts from touching hence no input from the button. To fix this, the solution is simple. Put your mouth over the non working button and give it a few good blows (again... no pun intended lol) If it doesnt work right away then try it again.. and try not to get your saliva in it.. that could be bad..

Seems to good to be true right??? That's what I thought too. But after I did it.. BANG! Both the DSi and DS lite buttons work again! Just thought I'd share

yeah I couldnt believe that it actually worked.. But glad it did.. I might still take them apart and give them a good cleaning with a q-tip and a little rubbing alcohol as I accidentally kept the tri-wing that came with the buttons.. ;P
