Dsi slot replacement

Hello all,

So I have replaced a slot 1 game reader on a DS and a DSi and on both after I replace them it no longer reads any games I've tried using lead and lead free solder and neither worked. Both DS and Dsi where working before but had bent pins so it was ify I bought the game reader and desolder them correctly no pad lifts and I've verified the soldering after no bridges or pins left unsoldered ? Anyone had same problems and found any solution to it? Ps I used a Dino digital microscope to verify the pins joints. Thanks

You should use rosin core for that. That does sound like a wierd situation. It sounds like you did a thourough job with that Dino Digital Microscope, too. If it worked before and it doesn't now, there's no denying that it must be something that different causing this. You seem to have checked everything that jumps to mind. I'll ponder over this and think of some factors that might have been overlooked. Ttyl.

Great thanks for the response EForslin. I was trying to attach some pics of what the soldering job looks like and what I used but keep getting error? Whats weird is this happened to me with another DS (phat) and an iphone I took off the sim card reader put new one and then it didnt read the sim card anymore its got me baffled??? :032:

No I tried different solder and double checked the solder joints they are solid? Don't know why those don't seem to work? Like I said it's the same when I tried to fix an iPhone sim and an old DS slot after replacing they just don't work.
