my son bought himself a 3ds and we have m3 and m3i card here to try, just didnt want to break anything without asking first. and always get a great answer here,
    thanks

Depends on the R4i (SDHC, Gold, etc). R4i Gold doesn't but SDHC should.

I personally would recommend an Acekard 2i or Supercard DSTwo.

Supercard DSTwo has alot of plugins and an extremely high capability and works with the 3DS. Acekard 2i also has a high capability and works with the 3DS (both may require an update that needs a DS Lite/Phat to boot). The only thing the DSTwo can do that the Acekard 2i can't, is emulators. However, Acekard 2i is much cheaper.

Some R4i cards can support Ninendo 3DS by update the firmware, and others released new r4 3ds card for 3DS. But the old version of r4i card is not compatible with Nintendo 3DS console. So, you should check the r4i official website to get more information.

Looks ike gonna go with the acecard, comes updated as well and half the price. He dont play emulators so its an easy choice.
Too bad we cant get the m3i to work, ive gotta so used to them.
THanks everyone for all the responses.

get the acekard 2i is the right choice,R4i can't update, when DS system updated, R4i will be blocked.
