    How to update the kernel?

    By using the TF card reader, connect your TF card with computer, open the file.
    a. Upload game kernel: Copy the R4.DAT file to your TF card.
    b. Upload video kernel: Copy the Moonshl2 to your TF card.
    c. Upload DIY Interface function: Copy the R4iMenu to your TF card.

    Not sure if I should ask this but wasnt the R4 company sued by Nintendo and thus had to end production?

    The original R4 production ended long ago (only supported up to 2gb MicroSD). This is a clone maker with Micro-SDHC support.

    Ok well then I have heard correctly. I wasnt sure if these were still the clones or something had changed. Its been over 2 years since I used my original r4. I still remember having to patch each game to get them to play because of what was just mentioned above. You couldnt get any new kernels for it so I just simply patched everygame. I am also assuming this kernel is only good for that exact card correct?

    Yes. There's also a firmware called Wood for original R4 and Acekard R.P.G cards, it has amazing game compability.

    Wow those last 2 posts just prove how long its been since I touched my DS. I never even heard of that kernel. I just dont have the time to play my ds. Not only that but I can get pretty lazy. If it doesnt get up and walk to me, I wont play it. Not only that but I hate games that have stories to them. I just want a game that I can turn the console on and get right into it.
