can anyone recommend a site to hack a DS?

My 4 year old has just informed me that that's what he wants for Christmas so ...

I couldn't find anything on wiihacks to hack the DS which surprised me but if anyone can send me somewhere that has good info, I'd appreciate it. (yes, I know how to use google but I trust the people here so that is why I'm asking)

Also - since he's 4, I don't think I need a "top of the line" one (which I think is the DSi??) because it's going to get ruined or replaced so if anyone has any opinions on what to buy (or not to buy), would you please let me know?

PS - I know nothing about the DS (YET) so any info is good. THANKS A BUNCH!!

Just buy a flashcart. That's the only hack for a NDS. You can spend from $10 to $50, U.S. funds. Then you will need a miniSD card, may I recommend a 8GB card to fit a lot of games on it. You can spend a lot of time at GBAtemp reviewing them, but for the DS lite, I think the AceKard 2 (or AceKard 2i) or the CycloDS are the best. Check out gamebygame, they have good prices and if your in the USA, will be in your mail box in 3 business days.

There will be a new DSi coming out in the USA at the beginning of next year, the screens will be twice the size of the current DSi.

EDIT - tristan, that site looks familiar, how long has it been around? Sweet, I can even log in there with my WiiHacks account name, kind of like they were expecting me.

Thanks Stomp - that's what I was looking for! After hacking the Wii, I couldn't imagine it could be that simple!

I am in the US - are there places to buy them (like Best Buy or Radio Shack or something) instead of online?

Edit: This is for my 4 yr old so I think a DS Lite would be good enough? (instead of the DSi I mean) I don't really know all that much about them but I was just thinking a portable car sort of game to keep him busy.

I have a CycloDS, AceKard 2i, and a M3DS Real. I like the CycloDS the most, but that one cost almost twice what an AceKard 2i costs. And, if you get the AceKard 2i, it will work in a DS, DS lite, and DSi. The CycloDS will not work in the DSi. The AceKard 2i menu runs pretty smooth like the Cyclo. My M3DS Real is nice, but sometime doesn't want to boot correctly and I have to turn off the DS and restart it, but I only noticed that since installing new beta firmware that plays the latest roms. All three of the flashcarts I listed are quick to release new firmware that will allow you to play the latest games.

In the USA, not for sale in retail stores. First check out the site sponsors, then check out gamebygame, I ordered from CanadaMods, a site sponsor, no problems there. I also ordered from gamebygame and like the quick shipping from there. It's your choice really where you want to order from. I would recommend both of them.

hi guys just could do with advice please.
my neice as a dsi with an r4i card which was working fine until she run a update just wondered if anyone had any links or advice on a update or downgrade many thanks!

More that once when updating my firmware on my miniSD card, something became corrupted, so the fix for my problem was to copy everything except the new firmware to my computer and reformat the card. Then reinstall the new firmware and all the stuff that was previously on the card. I don't know how the R4 works but that may solve your problem.
