r4isdhc dual core 2014 card is coming and the old cards stop updating

today the r4isdhc official site has released the news that they will release the new card r4i sdhc dual core 2013 version and this new card will have more features combined the features of r4, m3 and dstwo. but at the same time, it means they have abandoned their old cards uncluding r4i sdhc dual core 2013 and r4i rts lite 2013, this is bad news to the customers who bought them. they will also release a new card to play 3ds games in the near future. more details check the pics below

So i recommend you do not buy these cards for now because if you receive the 2013 version card, you will need to buy new cards again later, if you insist to buy them, recommend you wait a few days to buy the 2014 version or just buy a better r4i gold 3ds card instead.

Do yourself a favor, don't buy crappy flashcarts.

    @2hack:

It'd really help your comprehension skills if you actually read what he said above:

I wonder if they will open source the older code, for previous models.

I initially thought so, and have one. The problem is the r4igold only works for system menu 6.2.0 12 not the new 6.3.0-12 that is out now...

So you leave out clarifying information and would otherwise expect someone to produce a crystal ball? PM the guy, he sells and supports them with wiihacks' blessing. Usually in cases like this, it goes something like new firmware on DS -> new firmware on flashcart. It's cyclic in nature, meaning this is nothing new and likely will see an update addressing it.

Firstly, I tried PM'ing him before, and to no avail. I had given up on my current R4i card, and was considering this one, yet wanted to know the difference between them.
Now I'm no noob at life and understand that hack, always comes after the official update. the update never came out. I figured it out myself. Thanks for being such a great help.

For those who don't know, apparently the current updated flash card for 6.2.0-12 will work on 6.3.0-12 without any updating.

Did you attempt to contact the vendor/manufacturer of the card? Your statements don't make sense. In the previous post, you said that firmware doesn't work on the card. Then in your latter-most post, you say it does (6.3.0-12)???

I'm with nightstah on this one. 2Hack, you are being very generic in the details of your posts. No one here is a mind reader, how can we know which R4i card you are talking about, and what specifically you are trying to do? And don't get lippy with a site admin. Its your inability to be specific that has caused us all to go "wtf is this dude talking about?"

Ok, sorry if I've been poor at explaining what I did.

1stly, I consulted the download page of R4ids.cn, to see that no new update was available for the r4i go 3ds, giving me the impression that there was none available.

I then saw this post telling me that 2013 cards will not have updates, and that I needed a 2014 card to proceed with future system updates. Obviously I mixed these cards with mine.

I decided I may as well chase down one of these cards, and was wondering why there where so many different ones.

I later saw on the R4ids.cn site that the card requires no update for the new update.
I tried it out and I'm running my backups w/o updating the card.

I may not have been as clear as I would have liked to, and apologize for that.
