Hi, I have a quick question about Drive Key. I have version 1.0 and I've been able to play all of my backups and originals without a problem until recently. I just bought black ops and the new ghost recon and neither of these original discs can be read by the system. All other games and backups that I've tried work, but these two are giving me issues. Do I need to update something for these two to work? Thanks everyone for your help in advance, as I'm kinda new to all this.

Vinatec, I think you misunderstood my question. I am not trying to play a backup of Black Ops, I am trying to play the original on the system that has the chip in it. It won't read the game. I even returned it thinking it might be a bad disc, but that's not the case. It just won't read that game. All of my other originals and my backups work, but this will not. Any other suggestions from anyone who knows about the drive key chip?

the original game needs an updated IOS mentioned in the black ops guide. and also a hint how to install that specific IOS.
you would be in need of that IOS if you blocked updates on your console what is smart anyways.
as asked by nightstah please describe the error, does the question mark / disc could not be read come up or something else?
i am not into hardmodding but i doubt the chip is directly interferring and guess its more a IOS (not firmware) updating issue.

Sounds like a marginal or dirty laser to me...
If the laser was dirty, why does it read every other game except the 2 new ones I said? That doesn't really make sense I don't think. It is game specific, so I'm thinking it has to be something software related...like I need to update something. Any other suggestions?Quote:
