My guess is that the iso version you downloaded is from another region .Thus why your own back up games work and this one don't. 4.2 and 4.3 will only run games from your wii's region even with a drivekey installed. The best thing to do is to never update your wii's system menu ...but that's to late..

I have an older drivekey modchip. I bought it 2 years ago. I decided to put my modchip In my friend's wii. It is 4.3U and the serial number is LU401077212. It was working on my wii that has 4.1u. It will not work on my friend's wii. I tried entering the serial # on the wii chipset tracker but it tells me that they do not have enough information. Can anyone help me find out if my drivekey modchip will work on this wii?

    Wii help

I'll try to be of some help here with some wii facts. Any wii that has been manufactured around April of 2009 will not play backups of wii games that have been burnt to dvd. Nintendo changed the dvd drive The dvd drive is called D3-2, currently there is no chip that will work on these drives. An easy way to check a wii is by theserial number. The number "Must" be the same or lower then these. For the US Lower than LU7012XXXXX For Canada LU3941XXXXX For EU LEF1128XXXXX For Australia LAH1167XXXXX If your wii is the same or lower the drivkey will work in your wii.

Second thing you need to know that is important is the Firmware version aka system menu of the wii in question.Starting with the 4.2 release Nintendo made a change that makes the wii "ONLY" read games from the wii's own region, even if you have a drivekey installed. So if you burn a game for your friend in PAL format and his wii is a NTSC wii the game will not work. Don't update your firmware if you are hard modding a system.Mines still 3.1 so I don't have to worry about game regions.

Here's a link on how to check you system version if you don't know how to: http://blog.techsick.com/guides-tuto...mware-version/

Here's another site that just explains what I was saying above. The info is at the bottom of the page where it flashes WARNING in red letters. DriveKey Wii Mod Chip For Epoxy D2E & D3 :: Buy Wii DriveKey

So if your having problems start with this info. Hope this is helpful to someone.

P.S this information does not apply to softmodded wii's that's another ball game.I would go with hardmodding in my opinion so you don't have to worry about bricking your wii as much.

You're off by about 6 months, the date in question is around Nov/Dec of 2009, and some of them may have still been in stores or at online retailers until about Feb 2010.
