Sorry if this question has been asked before..
I tried to play a backup of epic Mickey & my wii wants to do a system update.I am currently running system 4.2E & only play PAL games. Goldeneye works perfectly on my wii as it stands.
So is it safe to do the update as I dont want my backups to stop working..?
If not,how do I play Mickey without upgrading?

there is no reason to update to 4.3 there are no benefits just more homebrew blocking

yes thats right. when I insert the game it asks for a system update. I presume the game wont load without one. Its a PAL game on a PAL console.
well easiest way is to follow the black ops guide to install the new ios 249 v19 base 57 also you should go into your priiloader and enable the hacks to block online and disc updates and save the settingsQuote:

If your chip can block updates, configure it to do so....
If it can't then you might think about softmodding your Wii and blocking updates with Priiloader.
Does this mean that I have to softmod my console as well?.until now my drivekey has played everything that I have thrown at it.
I can see I have to do a bit more research into this problem..I havnt a clue about priiloader etc..
@Krank...yes its only hardmodded.I'm not sure it is set to block updates.I followed the guide on the website to install it & cant remember if it was set to block updates....I shall have a look now on the site.
I've updated mine with drivekey 1.0 (still waiting for that damn DKProg from a UK Seller somewhere) and i've had no problems with that game.
