My Wii is new (like 1 month old), running 4.2U, I have installed a Drivekey, this DriveKey config menu works, but the 2 backups I've made (Super Mario Galaxy and Monster Hunter Tri, do not. Whenever I insert the discs the drive spins for like 5-10 seconds, then the "an error has occurred, press eject, yada yada..." message pops up. I have burned at 4x with ImgBurn with TDK DVD-R. What could possibly be wrong and how could I fix this?
Should have done more research before spending time and money. If the wii is new it will not play backups from disk at all.
It's a long story...but I bought the DriveKey for an older Wii...but anyway, I'm gonna try to get a refund.Quote:

also check your drivekey is set correct on the actual chip as it took me a while to find the very small pins on the chip that i had to move for pal version so check they are set to you u version
make sure you burn ntsc copies
use imageburn and burn at 2x speed
keep modchip in as they can help to recover from a brick i have read and softmod wii and play games from external hard drive just read up on them first
