    Unhappy Just installed drivekey

Hey guys. I just installed the new drivekey and when I boot up the wii I get an error. "Eject disc and refer to wii manual for help" I tried to hit the eject button three times and nothing happens. I cant even put a disc in the drive. I made the mistake of putting the wii back together before testing. Help please , my wife is going to kill me ..

open up the wii again and check if you installed the chip correctly, it says dvd on the side where the dvd drive attaches to. also check the dipswitches and set them for youre region.

Yes I did hook it up wrong .. I had the cables hooked up backwards.. A note to every body ,ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK !!! Just like my father told, me measure twice cut 1 once . I am having trouble getting into the drivekey menu , I pushed eject 3 times and nothing but I'll try again later, I only have ntsc so I should be o.k . I tested two backups GH5 & NSMW & both played fine. Tested 1 original and that also played.

reset the wii with the drive empty.
press eject 3 times, wait until there is a gamecube logo on the discchannel. enter the discchannel en press begin . this brings you to the drivekey menu

    youre welcome

Realy, I always thought of forums like this to be a place were people could get together to share info & help others with the information we have, not take cheap jabs at someones misfortune. Maybe I am misunderstanding but this felt like more of a " oh I know so much & you're just a stupid noob. There was a specific step left out of the instructions I first referenced. I then found the missing info and corrected the problem. I then posted so that if any others ran into this simple but understandible mistake they would find HELP in the post.
As to giz, that you for the great help. You're patience and help are the reasons I use these forums . To all others , let's just help each other and be glad that forums like this and many others are here. Later.

Okay I installed my drivekey x 4 and it worked perfectly no problems at all. Then after running the 4.1 update which runs great from dogeggs and installing priioader v0.3 (r32) IOS v60 the chip would not function. So after a few hours of trial of error it turns out when you open your preloader menu when you hold reset and turn it on. Scroll to the the bottom which is SETTINGS and hit A and put Autoboot: to system Menu and put Return to: System Menu and Guess what??? It works again. Hope this helps anyone who did what I did on the preloader settings.
