I got my drivekey about 3 weeks ago and installed, plays all games fine.
Recently I try to play NSMB and it ask for system update but I have been hold off on that because I don't want to bricked. I finally did it today from the disc, it updated from 3.4u to 4.1u but the damn game still won't play.
I could get game to start and load but then goes back to the main screen. luckly all my other games still works. Can someone please tell me whats going on?
    Thanks in advance!

hey slimer, thanks for your reply.
I am new to this wii stuff, my drivekey inforiveKey plug in modchip Drive Key Version 3.0 latest version, got it from modchip.ca
I thought I was able to play the game after the system update but in this case it didn't happen. Do you think is the drivekey or the game it self? Do I have to do anything about the drivekey setting? thanks

Make sure your copy is a virgin copy, with no patches or fixes applied, then should work also i tried NSMB with old version of drivekey and it wouldn't even take me to the update screen.

wiikey and wasabi family of chips released an update less than 2 weeks ago to enable people to play these new games. Your chip may not be updated yet to play newest games. You might have to wait until they release an update to its firmware.

Go to the website when you bought your chip did it have this advertisment

NEW DriveKey plug in modchip Drive Key Version (2010 NSNB protection ready)

The bold part is what is required to play the new games. If yours has it then I as well am stumped.

    thanks guys,
slimer, you are right! my drivekey doesn't have the (2010 NSNB protection ready) now it make sense. I am mad, they released new chip right after I got my. Does that mean I am not able to play any of the new games that are release in 2010? thanks again!

Although i have a question about NSMB....If i have the new firmware for my drivekey i noticed there are patches/fixes to dl, would i need those as well?

You will need to patch all the new games to get them to work until they come out with a way to flash your modchip. Those new games including NSMB have patches out there that will get it to work with existing chips. Basically you will need to mess with wiiscrubber to patch the ISOs.

    EBNY

if you have the new firmware you should not need to patch the ISO. Try using a virgin unpatched ISO and it should work.

as I do not have a drivekey myself it is unknown to me. If you don't mind making a disk that may not work on your Wii. Burn and give it a try. I find DVD-r are cheap and don't care if I make the occasional coaster.
