    Ca Drivekey won't play backups

Hi, I softmod Wiis all the time, but don't have any experience with the Drivekey solderless modchip. I've got a customer who has one and is having trouble with it.
He says that when he puts his backups in, it says eject the game and to refer to the users manual.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I have the same issue, my wii is not softmodded, but i have the newest drivekey installed and am unable to play backups.
my system is brand new 4.2u,I can access the drivekey config menu so i know the key works, and ive used imgburn to burn my backups to -R dvd's.

Dude, if you can't get it to work then you should softmod. Softmodding is great because if you know what you are doing, you can do everything the drivekey can do and more for free.

The only time I would buy a Drivkey, or recommend buying a drivekey is if you bricked your Wii, and hadn't installed BootMii or Preloader.

i installed the drivekey a couple of days ago and most backups are playing. NSMB and PAL are the only ones not to and that was expected because of the 4.2 update. i am even using ty +r's with booktype set to dvd-rom. when i used a old memorex -r, the disc wasn't read. weird. i don't have any soft mods installed.

If your wii is that new, you prob have the newest unmoddable drive. It wont play backup discs at all. You would have to swap out the Drive board.

same issue here. Install drivekey, I was able to go at the menu config but back up games are getting errors. I used verbatim dvd-r and burn my back up games at speed 4x. what seems to be the problem? drivekeys is not working? My original are working.

I burned World at War at 4x on TEON DVD-R 8x and it worked perfectly, including online and such. Stopped playing, updated system so I could download the internet channel. When I rebooted the wii WaW wouldn't play.

Wow, you really shouldn't have done that. By updating through Nintendo, you probably killed your chances of using that Drivekey. What system menu did you update to? You can find a softmod guide on here corresponding your system menu.

Just say you're from Wiihacks when adding me.
I've done LOTS of softmods and consider my self a veteran with softmods.
