Make sure the dipswitches on the Drivekey are set to your region. Test a "back up" game while you still have the Wii open to make sure everything is working before you put it back together. And make sure the games you are trying to play are of the same region ie... pal, NTSC. With the 4.2 update you wont be able to play out of region games.

K, thanks.... Yea been getting only USA games as of right now. Gav told me to just stay away from PAL ones just to play it safe any way. He also said something about blocking (AWWWWWWW crap forgot what it was lol) something so when you put game in dont update? on lines of that :P

How does that work? I keep it off and then if game dont work turn it on or never let it update for the game

Dont update from out of region games. The drivekey is already set to block updates I think. When you update from the shopping channel, you can set the drivekey to stealth mode. I guess that means that its undetectable.
Spyman should be along to soon to confirm or correct my info.

how do you put the drivekey in "stealth mode?" I've updated without doing that and no problems, but maybe I was just lucky? I thought the Drivekey was undectable?

I have updated with all kinds of different chips in Wii's and never had a problem. The NSMB game has an update on the disc that detects modifications. Not too sure on what exactly it does yet. You will have to access the drivekey menu to turn it off. Press the eject button while the Wii is on and a Gamecube game shows up in the Disc channel. Click start like a normal game and you will be taken to the drivekek menu.

thanks for the response but yea of course I know how to access the Drive Key mode, but there is no "stealth mode" on my menu.

I would suggest that you burn at 4x. That seems to be the consensus on these forums. It saves wear and tear on the laser in the Wii.
