Us safe to update?
Hey everyone,

I am very new to the wii. I just got my wii in the mail today and it came with a drivekey installed. I have 3.1U as my firmware. I have been reading about 4.2 and how it disables some games, so I don't think I want to upgrade to 4.2. But if i run system update, would 4.1 be installed prior to 4.2 or would my wii just download 4.2?

As i said, i'm very new to the wii, so I am starting to learn the terms. So if i sound confused, I am I am starting off reading about homebrew. if anyone have any suggestions on what I should be doing and looking at as a new wii owner with drivekey.. I would be very greatful. This forum has a lot of information and I am starting to look at them.

New games have 3.4 system update on disc.

If you wish to go to anything higher than that but not all the way up to 4.2 you will need to softmod. [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

ok I am trying the softmod right now (once I find my digital camera for the SD card.) thank you! Will the softmod interfere with the drivekey?
