To GERM@K try contacting your point of sale. They should offer you some type of support. Also, my understanding, and I could be wrong, is with the drivekey in place you can only play backups for the region you set the dipswitch at on your Drivekey.

I would contact the point of sale NOT drivekey for support. Even if your warranty period has expired they will still offer support. If you update do it through the HBC NOT the nintendo web site.

    Newb question here:

Just purchased the retail NSMB. I have a drivekey installed. It is making me update to 4.1 in order to play the game.

What are the consequences of installing the update? I have no homebrew apps installed or anything like that. I basically use the drivekey to play the occasional backup.

My suggestion is go through your point of sale. They will offer support even if the warranty period is up. Do you have your drivekey update blocker turned on??

Just got an email from the store that sold me the drivekey, they have contacted their supplier for an update. Atm they are working on an update, but there is no ETA yet.

    I'll keep you updated...

    Quote from www.drivekey.com

2009-11-26 >> NSMB fixed on DriveKey!

We have fixed the NSMB issue in DriveKey. The updated firmware will be in all chips shipping from Monday 30th November. We will also be providing an update for existing DriveKey owners, which will be released as soon as the JTAG programmer is ready. In the near future we will also publish a standard for appending BCA data at the end of the ISO image, so that any new game with this new protection will work without any update of the chip. The actual game ISO will remain unmodified.

    JTAG programmer
I hope that doesn't mean we actually have to use that external cable to update the chip... then i have to open my wii again and i really don't know how to use something like that.

Just bring out an update on a dvd

I put in the JTAG Cable anyway so as to avoid opening up my Wii again anytime soon. I ran it outside the console above the USB port and scotch taped it to the outside of the console for safe keeping. The developers of the drivekey must be anticipating something and preparing us for another way for the Drivekey module to receive updates besides through a DVD just in case.
