hopefully drivekey comes out with an update. only reason why i bought a chip is so that i wouldnt have to mess around with soft modding. id be pissed if they didnt fix this issue.

Still haven't received a response back from the folks at DriveKey.com.

I have followed up with this email:

Quote:
Hey guys. I sent a question out to you a while ago and have not gotten a response yet. I'm a member of many different forums online strongly advocating your product. I've mentioned that I sent you an email inquiring about any firmware updates to your product, yet you have not provided a response. Are you working on a Wii firmware 4.2 fix?

We await your response.

Thanks for your efforts Annunaki - keep us posted!

So just to be clear - the suggestions posted earlier in this thread (using the utils to change region code and changing the properties of the ISO in imgburner) do not work?

Lightbulb software hack for unlocking regions?

I have the same problem as most of you. My wii is NTSC-U and my PAL games don't work (don't have jap games, but they most likely don't work either).

In a fit of desperation, I've tried to softmod my wii to get them working again. Needless to say, it's very complicated. Softmodding on 4.2 (getting homebrew channel is a breeze, but getting backups to load...not so much) is still like shooting in the dark, as you have to try various methods and HOPE that one works.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a homebrew hack that just opens up the region lock. I figured that if such an app were to exist, that would take care of the region problem (and the drivekey would take care of the backup problem, since that part is working fine as is).

In other words, is there a simple homebrew app/hack that JUST takes care of the region lock and IS NOT a backup loader?
