cannot enter drivekey settings-menu, getting just a blackscreen!

I just bought and installed the drive key for my PAL Wii (firmware 4.1). At first it seems like it just worked fine.
When I hit the eject button 3 times there is the gamecube loge showing up. But when I try to enter the menu I just get a blackscreen and it seems like the tv loses connection to the Wii, cause it says "component" in the top right corner its the same it does when the wii is turned off. Also my Wii-Remote is dead and i cannot turn off the console.
I hope someone knows where the problem is... maybe the firmware?
I also tried to play a backup game and it didnt work... especially because of that i want to enter the config menu to make sure that the chip is aktivated...
Is there anything I need to consider when I burn my copies?

It sounds like a bad installation. Have you set the small region dip switches on the chip correctly, before you installed it? Also, make sure that the ribbon cables are connected as they should and that the chip is protected by the insulation sticker provided with the chip.
Wrt burning backup games you need to use DVD-R media (or DVD+R media with booktype set to DVD-ROM). Most people recommend Verbatim brand media and slow burnspeeds, but all DVD-R brands and all burn speeds work fine for me...
I have exactly the same problem. I detected the problem because mysteriously i get the blackscreen when I try to play tennis game from wii sports (is that make sense ?)
Afther that problem, I tried to disable the drivekey via config menu, but again, I got the blackscreen too (same as you, I was able to see the gamecube channel).
I removed the drivekey, and still I can't play tennis !!!
Did The drivekey damage my console.?
Is the 4.1U upgrade causing the problem?
