    NTSC and PAL issues

Im a little confused, im from canada, and i wanted to play madworld today, I think I downloaded a PAL version of the game because my update blocker is set to import, and im assuming its set there because if I update using a pal game it will brick my wii right?

but i can play pal games aslong as i have the right update... so I can update with madworld NTSC, just not pal amiright?

Yes it would brick your wii if the update went through. Every game I download, I always use wiibrickblocker. Then you dont have to worry at all about updates popping up. If you are burning the game, I think you need to change the ios number to 249. If you get a black screen, then youll need to change it.

It can be used for both. It doesnt matter if its being used for hard mod or soft mod. Heck it doesnt even matter if you pop the file onto a usb or hard drive afterwards. All that program does is remove the update (if there is one), reguardless what you do with the iso afterwards.

my drivekey has an import update/all update blocker.

thats what you mean by wiibrickblocker right?

plus i don't know how to put anything but wii games on disks.

if your modchip has a setting that disables disc updates, then you are fine. You also need to remember that you would be told about the update even before it actually happened, so if your modchip wasnt set up to disable updates, you would get a messege stating that you need to update in order to play the game. Simply power off the wii to avoid that update and then youll know that it wasnt disabled. Wiibrickblocker is for those who dont have that setting, or have a softmodded wii that doesnt have preloader, or starfall installed which disable disc updates. I personally have starfall on my wii since Im using 3.2u still (if it aint broke dont fix it). Eventhough I know starfall prevents disc updates, I still use wiibrickblocker for all my downloaded games just to be extra safe.

is there a way to download JUST the updates, so lets say i wanna play madworld PAL, could i download the madworld ntsc update and play the pal game?

also USA is ntsc right? because i see games that say madworld USA, also when downloading games, what if it doesnt say whether the game is ntsc or or PAL
    what do i do?

You can bypass the updates and still play the game. Think about it.... I am using firmware 3.2 and the newest is 4.1. All new games would update my wii, but I can still play them and also bypass the update. Theres NTSC which is USA and pal. But you can also get NTSC-J which is japenesse (spelling?) If you download a game and arent sure if its pal or NTSC, you can download "regionfrii" and start that program and then use that program to open your iso file. It will then tell you what region it is.

is there a simple way of doing this, im a complete nub, i only know how to go into my drivekey options and burn games to disks.

so if theres a simple program i could like burn to a disk and pop it in that would be wicked.
