also, google is your friend.
did you set the Dip switches the right way for your Wii,,did you connect the ribbons to the right places(provided it's a solderless chip) if it's not a solderless,,Sorry can't help you there....You'd have to talk with one fo the other fine gentlemen about soldering one.
@darkwind25-mcd: He says he has a DriveKey modchip. So it's a solderless modchip for sure.
Whats the point of chipping. I mean can't you just soft mod your wii these days
the benefeits of a modchip, of which there are many more.
1) Stealth. A modchip like d2pro/wasabi etc run under a stealth mode, if an update or software were made by nintendo to scan changes a homebrew mod would be detectable.
2)Wii Updates. Wii updates do not effect a modchip, but they will effect softmods by wiping them out, until a new method of getting it back on is found. in this case downgrading the firmware and installing the update IOS packs. With a modchip it doesn't really matter , you can update to 4.1 and not need to do anything special to get it to play games.
3) Region update blockers. The newer modchips have these built in and prevent the wii from doing updates from foreign regions automatically. (prevents bricking)
4) Bricking. very common with softmods on several different levels/places and frustrating for a lot of people to fix a bricked unit depending how they bricked it.
5) Speed. Speed is limited to 3x, where as most chips (excluding drivekey) run at 6x (the laser dying because of a chip is a myth, use good media that is all that is necessary, that is true for softmods as well).
6) Softmods do not have full game compatability and often get errors that are hard for noobs to fix.
I could probably go on, but these are the main reasons. in a simple statement its just a lot easier and safer to go with a modchip.
I would definitely choose a Modchip over a Softmod any day.

Idget,,,some of us aren't that comfortable with doing a soft mod...I'm still to new at this stuff and I don't want to wreck my Wii....I can't afford to replace it,,now that I'm unemployed.

Mod chips, are point less. The best thing out are usb loaders. Every single game works, no bs gamma loader errors, And you dont have to buy a ton of dvds. Just 1 external harddrive [60-110] less then 1tb will work.
I don't have any gamma loader errors and I don't mind having DVD's around..Cause I only D/L what I want. So I really don'y have a ton of games to start with.
But hey to each there own.
