Drive Key Wont Load Anything!

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me out. I have done some searching around and havent really been able to find anything.

I had my Wii modded today, with the drive key. Brand new system running on Firmware 3.4U.

It worked to load a real game and a backup game. Now I cannot get the wii to even play any games. It gives me a disk error and tells me to turn off the system and read the instructions. No orignal or back ups will work now.

I tired pressing the eject button x 3 and it will not work either, I cant see the gamecube logo. Could this be an issue with running on 3.4u and is it safe to try updating to 4.0u. Or would this be an error with the standard flat cable that connects to the chip?

Any help would be appreciated

So I have taken apart the wii, took the chip out and put it back in. Now it works! I guess the problem was the cable.

Should I update to 4.0u or latest firmware or should I stay on 3.4?

I'm still on 3.4, but lots on here have updated, I've had no need to so far, but I have not read of anyone having problems once their on 4.0 so I would say go ahead if you want it, but as I mentioned I have not had any need to update so far, I only haven't because I don't have a wireless conection

Updating to 4.0 is safe. DriveKey still works. (Can't say if this is the case if you have also softmodded your Wii, though)

I think I may hold off. Everything is working great on 3.4 right now. If I run into issues I know I can always try 4.0 as i havent softmodded or anything.

yep majority of the time its the cable not put in properly, i dont know what happened to our new tutorial but it goes into stressing this point...
