HM:Tree of Tranquility on pal wii

I'm having some trouble playing Tree of Tranquility on my pal wii
updated to the latest firmware btw
it freezes at the stage where it says insert nunchuck or classic controller, and can't pass that screen no matter what I do
anyone know how to solve this?

You have a DriveKey installed?

Is the game a backup or an original?

Is the game PAL or NTSC?

Is the game scrubbed or is it a full, unscrubbed version?

Scrubbed games will unrar to 4.37 gb, but if it was smaller when you downloaded it then its likely scrubbed and will not work

In my experience DriveKey is not 100% compatible with import games. Dunno if this is the same for all modchips, or just the DriveKey.

(It's not DriveKey just blocking an out-of-region disc update in order to prevent the Wii from bricking, since you have updated to the latest firmware already)

Anyway, what I usually do when I come across an NTSC game that doesn't work on my PAL Wii with DriveKey and firmware 4.0, is simply downloading the game in a PAL version. This always does the trick for me.

i dont believe it matters what chip you have, if your playing out of region games you will most likely come across a game here n there that has problems. its probably due to the many differences between regions. comes with the territory. my wasabi dx used as a zero on a 3.2u wii wont play simcity creator PAL. havent had a chance to try a ntsc version, but i guarantee it will work.

And you did try to insert a working nunchuck or classic controller, right?

I got myself a copy of the game. The version I have is NTSC, and it's a scene release (Harvest.Moon.Tree.Of.Tranquility.USA.Wii-FATAL), so not scrubbed.

I plays fine on my PAL Wii 4.0. At first I thought there was something wrong as I couldn't click past the wiimote wriststrap warning screen, but I just had to wait some 10 seconds and it continued by itself to the "Insert nunchuck or classic controller" screen. Upon inserting a nunchuck, the game starts up just fine, and I am able to play...

yeah I thought that was a bit odd when it wouldn't let me skip the warning screen even though i pressed the buttons...when you say "upon inserting a nunchuck" you mean yours wasn't connected to the wii remote the whole time? and you connected it when the screen told you to? hm... i might try that and see how it goes...anyway i envy you for being able to play the game

First time I inserted the nunchuck at the "Insert nunchuck or classic controller" screen. Then, after testing the game, I went back to the Wii system menu and started the game again, this time with the nunchuck already inserted. Both ways worked fine for me.

Do you have the exact same scene release version as mentioned in my post above?
