No, just download them, burn them, and play them,

DriveKey has its own built-in brickblocking feature, where updates from disc can be blocked. Default setting is that it blocks updates from out-of-region games only (this is the recommended setting, too). The setting can be changed from the built-in DriveKey configurations menu (press eject three times rapidly from the Wii main menu or in the disc channel).

So, no, you don't have to run the iso through BrickBlocker first. Actually, as a rule of thumb, it is strongly recommended not to do any modification at all of the iso files, when you use them with DriveKey or other modchips - patching the isos may result in unplayble games.

Very strange (but great for you!) that scrubbed games work for you with firmware 3.4.

...but is it safe to update the wii? I mean, when the wii asks me to update via dvd, it warns me saying that the update might screw up my modchip, making backups not work anymore.
I am a bit scared about this.... What shall i do?

...oh, forgot to say that if i block all updates via the drivekey, the game want work (black screen after launching it)

You are fine as long as you update from a game from the same region as your Wii. DriveKey works after the update, too. The risk of bricking your Wii is only if you try to update it via an out-of-region game (e.g. updating from an NTSC game on a PAL Wii).

If you don't want to update from a game disc you can always perform a system update from the Wii menu. DriveKey works fine after updating to 4.0e or 4.0u.

Please note that I only have experience with updating Wiis that are not softmodded. I am not sure if an update from a game or via the system update (e.g. from 3.4 to 4.0) would mess up your Wii if it's softmodded. Perhaps other users can add their experiences with this.

Just tried a pal game, with the following text
    English:

    - Cleaned with WiiScrubber 1.4
    - Burn with imgburn slowly.
    Works fine
I do not know much about modding, so Im guessing I just got lucky , but if you have 3.4u its at least worth trying a scrubbed game

    Thanks for the infos CoNS

Interestingly, the upgrade (taken from gran slam tennis) made it and guitar hero greatest hits work, but now smash bros brawl has stopped working, with the wii saying something like "problems on the disc, press EJECT" ... i've heard that along with mario kart this title had some kind of problems, i think i'll have to investigate some more.

EDIT: still have to try the drivekey upgrade though, i haven't messed with its firmware so far

OK all makes sense to me now.. The two games I was having problem getting to play were NEW games. Not only was I brickblocking them when I didn't need to. But my Wii was still on 3.4u firmware.

Updating my Wii now via internet and will stop brickblocking games before burning. be back to let you know how it turns out.

Thanks to all for always helping!

K new games work, both brickblocked which i won't waste my time doing anymore and just burned.

Funny how we are always so quick to blame the drivekey when something doesn't work!

if you have a drivekey you do not need to use brickblocker because you can effectively block updates via the drivekey settings menu.
