    Can I play any game?

    Hi,

I bought a wii machine a couple of days ago and today I ordered a drivekey. The machine I have is pal, but I would like to play games from other regions such as USA etc. Do I need to do something with the iso files before I burn it on a disc or can I play it immediately?

As long as your wii is updated with the most recent firmware updates FROM YOUR REGION you should be able to play any out of region games.

All you should have trouble with are scrubbed versions of games. But thats another story

So I only update firmware for my player and never update from US discs? But brickblocker should take care of that, won’t it?

By the way, what is scrubbed games?

I am brand new to this, but a little look around and i believe that scrubbed games are ISO's that have been reduced in size to save space on your PC or External HDD. So when you put that reduced sized ISO onto a DVD, you need to have your Wii at a certain Firmware version or they wont work.

Personally, scrubbed games does nothing for me and i will use the full ISO and just burn to disc !!

prettty close paul, scrubbed games are games with all of the blank space on the disc removed, compressing the size making it easier to download & share files through torrents. Only work on old firmware or softmodded machines. They would be really handy if downloading as files can be under 1 gb instead of 4.3 gb.

belfour only take updates from pal games or from online through your menu. Your drivekey will stop out of region updates unless you change its settings telling it to accept them.

If you use WiU1.1 on your ISO's,, Then you will not need to worry about the updates and regions of the DVD.

But if I have a pal machine and wants to play an NTSC game, and it needs to update in order to work. What could I do to play without updating?
