    Safe Updating with DriveKey

    Hi all,

I am not sure about doing updates with the DriveKey.
Is it safe to update the Wii with a DriveKey installed and turned on? (I have v3.4e and I was told the latest is 4.0)
Is it safe to have WiiConnect24 on with a DriveKey? (I have a charging cradle for my Wiimotes and it doesn't work unless the Wii has WiiConnect on)

Other than these things and some probrlams with Super Mario Galaxy (which may be media/burn speed issues) my DriveKey seems to doing well.

Oh and can you use the Homebrew Channel with a DriveKey? I wondering if it is possible to play Xvid/Divx videos with the Wii.

Yes, latest Wii firmware is 4.0, and yes it is safe to update with DriveKey installed. However, in order not to brick your Wii make sure to update from a game from the same region as your Wii (e.g. PAL Wii and PAL game). By default the DriveKey is set to block updates from import games (i.e. games from a different region than your Wii).

Sorry, I am not familiar with WiiConnect24...

Yes, you can use the HBC with DriveKey... To install, use the Zelda Twilight hack - and since you have DriveKey installed you can even use a backup Zelda Twilight game to do it.
