    Donkey Kong Pal on NTSC

    Hello all:

I have a NTSC wii (version 3.4). All games I've downloaded so far have worked, except Donkey King jet race (Pal). I have had several Pal games work so far, this is a Unscrubbed version of the game. It shows up in the load channel in the wii menu, but when I click on it I get a black screen (no error message) the only way I can get it back to the wii menu is to unplug it, off button, nor reset will work.

I remember reading somewere with madworld when it can out that some people had to turn off the update blocker to get a software update for the game, not the wii version.

I am very scared to brick my wii doing this, so I'm wondering if anyone knows specifically with this game if this or anything else is could get me going.

First time I used sony dvd-r (has worked for me 25+ times) second time I went and bought vertebim DVD-r, still no dice.

Don't worry all, I will not allow out of region updates until someone strongly tells me its safe to with this game. Its an old game so I would have to think it should have an older software update on it than 3.4. Will your wii update to an older out of region software?

    Ok enough rambling.

    Thanks all

    Prarie

If you had the orginal you could just rip it to hard drive with USBLoader. I hear that the USBLoader scrubs games when you rip them to hard drive or any other device. Then if you need, you can reburn the scrubbed version to a disc. As far as I know, NEVER do a out of region update (good way to brick). Black screen, did you try to install them 3 IOS's (IOS38, IOS53, IOS55), check the search box at the top of the screen. If you hold in the power button for at least 5 seconds your Wii will power down.

You never said hard or soft mod.

I've had a similar problem with Madworld NTSC on PAL... it wanted to update even though I was on the newest firmware... and Madworld PAL worked fine without trying to update.
I guess what I'm saying here is I don't understand what the source of the problem is, but just finding an NTSC copy should fix it.
    cheers

Today I tried a copy of Marbles balance challenge PAL and it does the same thing, locks the wii up tighter than a nuns you know what. Black screen, had to unplug to reset it.

    1. No original

    2. I agree, I don't think its worth the time it takes for a redownload unless someone knows It will fix (safely) my problem with these PAL games

    3. I will do some reading on this, but these shouldn't change if the game isn't scrubbed should they?

I thought that this Donkey kong - jet race was cut the update already. however, you can cut update again by wii brickblocker. And play Donkey kong through Gecko, it should be ok
