well you put the chip in to play burned Wii games, but I don't think that the homebrew channel would let you do that.

Yeah that's true, but for it to work I'll need to buy a Zelda TP for the Wii (which I planned to download since I already have it for the GC, I don't think that the GC one would work), so it would mean I would need an SD card, a USB adapter, and Zelda TP to get the homebrew channel working, oh well, if it has the same effect as the chip, only without me needing to take my whole system appart, I might as well buy those two things.

thank you for taking the advice, but did you see those two videos?

its really rather easy plus very satisfying when your done. also, modchips are more future proof as they are hidden to the wii's system, so updating is no bother, but softmods can break with future updates, they have done in the past.

and NEVER update by disc, in case the game is the wrong region, or your wii will be briicked / broken

Most people just rent the game at Blockbusters for softmodding the Wii - you only need the game for two minutes in the process.

yeah I hear that ppl do that, but I'm not a member in any of those places, so getting a membership for one game's kinda lame. but is seems the chip is better because it's more stable like Anthoric pointed out, and I already have one console chipped and we works well for me. On this topic what I basically wanted to know is which modchip's of the highest quality, and is most popular, Wasabi seems to be popular, but I would really like it if someone who tried would list performances for those chips, the keychip is pretty much out of the question now, since I would like to have GC games for it and having no streaming audio option for it kills it for me, so now it's down to Argon2 and Wasabi Zero.

good choice of chips,i just installed a wasabidx today it was simple..i never tried to open/mod a wii before today(took maybe 20 min max).i dont think it gets any easier.

Hi, does anyone know how to get the game cube streaming audio working with this chip or if it's even possible? Thanks!
