    Exclamation Drivekey dosent work Fullstop.

    Hi guys
I bought a drivekey recently from ausxmods, i installed it into my wii which was on firmware 4.0E and i can access the drivekey configuration menu, but i cannot play my originals or my backups either, sometimes the dvd drive wont even feed the disc through. I have a rather new wii and it has the epoxy and a silver cable between the dvd drive and wii motherboard. On a couple of occasions the disc did feed into the drive but then it wouldnt even spin at all, regardless of it being a backup or original. I'am thinking of buying a Flatmod now because they seem to have far less problems but theres nothing about them on this forum? does anyone know what i can do?

My drivekey has the X4 diode but when i checked the serial number with drivekey.com and it came up as being one of the earlier chips which could have problems, they said i could return it for a new one? but i thought all the X4's were the new ones?!

any help would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Andy

Sounds like your ribbon cable may not be seated right., unclip both sides and make sure its all the way in and even.

I bought 10 keys all were defective in the fact that they spun the drive in standby. If you put your serial number in at the drivekey site and it says you might have a defective key, call the company you bought it from and have them rma it for you. Canadamods helped me out and replaced all of them. Now they are working fine.

you might have the ribbons around the wrong way i done that first then thought i better look on the website to make sure its right and i had the ribbons in the wrong slots

My chip keeps spinning on standby i just turned the standby off in connect24. will other problems arise becoase of this fault or will just turning off standby be enough???

i had the same problem, the 4x drivekey and problems, problems, problems. i went and bought a new cable to replace the silver one, i dont think that was the problem but i replaced it anyway.

i also have the glue wii, i went to the drivekey website and put in my serial number and it was a bad one.

they gave me a rma, i tried to go who i bought it from. dont buy from foundmy.com!!!!!!!!!!!!

go to drivekey and they will take care of it for you!

it took about 3 weeks but the drivekey they sent works perfect!!!

so i would like to say a big woo hoo to the drivekey people for taking care of a problem. lots of love for them!!

I noticed my drive was spinning in standby last night after i put my drivekey in. Does this mean its defective? Or should I verify it with the serial on their website?

You should verify the serial on the DriveKey website. But yes, if it spins in standby mode, it is defective AFAIK.
