Disc still spinning while Wii is off

After installing the DriveKey, I've noticed that if I leave a game in my Wii while it is turned off, I can still hear it spinning hours later. I'll eject the disc, the spinning noise will stop, and the disc will be very warm to the touch. I'm worried because I don't want my drive to wear out quickly since the disc is always spinning, lately I've just been ejecting the disc when I'm done playing.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Mine does not continue to spin. I do remember reading about this in a older thread, have a look around in this section.

    Possible bad chip

That is a symptom of one of the bad chips that originally went out. If you go to the Drivekey site and check theRMA System. There you can plug in your serial number and read about the bad chips. Act quickly because the PMA deadline is April 30.

mine did the same thing, i went to drivekey and checked my serial number and they said it was bad, so they gave me a rma, i sent it in on march 30th and i have still not got any response or update.

i am hoping to have my replacement someday before i die!!

anyway i bought mine from foundmy, to all people out there do not buy from them, you can get better service from mcdonalds, at least the people at mcdonalds will answer you back.

sometimes the drivekey would work, then other times i would get the disk error, then it would spin when it was off.

so far i am not impressed with the drivekey, i am thinking of sending mine off to a mod place to have a chip soldered on mine.
