I have the same problem like kochab. FW 4.0 and a new wii form februar 2009.
I want to solve the problem with my dealer, but the dealer said, their is no Problem. I don't know with version i have, because the dealer modified the console.
All copies work perfekt, but if i play original games, after one 1 i get the disc failure.
I think there are some Problems with Drivekey an the new wiis.
I recieved today a few new Drivekey's.
On the diode where has to be X4 stands .
Which version is it??
I am new here since i modded my wii just last week. Used to modd xbox's by the dozen in 2002-03. have the drivekey issue that plays my backups but not the originals, tried turning it off in the menu but still nogo. can somebody please tell me where to get the new ribbon cable that will hopfully fix my problem? thanks
Please note that the ribbon issue is only if you have a DriveKey chip with a B4/X4 diode AND you have a new NTSC-USA Wii (serial LU64/65). If this is the case, then yes, you should be able to fix it by replacing the original Wii silver ribbon cable.
