i ordered a wasabi dx right after the drivekey and have had no problems with the dx at all. now i have both chips. i could send the drivekey back and at least get it replaced for a wasabi dx but it would cost $20+ to send it back, not worth it.
Or you could just sell it on Ebay

im pretty sure that sellng modchips is illegal on ebay, at least the USA ebay. i tried searching for chips before just to see if there were any and had absolutely no results.

easy solution, get a friend to buy a wii and sell them the chip
its unfortunate that there are some problems, its still our #1 voted chip and are #1 seller. Generally never any issues, hopefully if there is an issue it will be an easy dvd update.

I have the same problem like kochab. FW 4.0 and a new wii form februar 2009.
I want to solve the problem with my dealer, but the dealer said, their is no Problem. I don't know with version i have, because the dealer modified the console.
All copies work perfekt, but if i play original games, after one 1 i get the disc failure.

I think there are some Problems with Drivekey an the new wiis.

It's the so-called 0 ohm diode version. It's the most recent one. Search this forum section to see more info on it - there are some pics and a description of what has changed from the X4/B4 diode version... Basically it's supposed to fix the issues of the former versions with some original games on LU64/65 machines.

Please note that the ribbon issue is only if you have a DriveKey chip with a B4/X4 diode AND you have a new NTSC-USA Wii (serial LU64/65). If this is the case, then yes, you should be able to fix it by replacing the original Wii silver ribbon cable.

I have the one on the left (ordered it from eotdeals.com ),So far so good,Works great!
    Installation Steps:
    1)Configure DriveKey:Remove DriveKey from it's packaging and switch the dip-switches as follows:JAP:ON ON,USA:OFF ON,EUR:ON OFF,KOR:OFF OFF,
2)Open your Wii:With a tri-wing screwdriver, remove the Wii cover, exposing the
    DVD drive.
3)Disconnect the DVD drive:Lift the hinge and gently pull out the cable from the
    DVD drive
4)Connect the DVD drive to DriveKey:Insert the included cable gently (pins face down) intoboth the DVD drive
and DriveKey (at the end marked "DVD") and close the hinge.
5)Connect the Wii to DriveKey:Insert the cable previously removed from the DVD drive into the other end of DriveKey (at the end marked "Wii") and close the hinge.
6)Insulate DriveKey,close your Wii cover& enjoy:Stick the included DriveKey PVC sticker (or a few strips of insulating tape) over DriveKey to keep it out of contact with the chassis, replace the DVD drive and close the Wii cover. You will now be able to play backups (copies) of your favorite Wii titles as well as imported originals from other regions! It's as easy as that!
