    D2Sun v1.5 PAL - Success story...

I am just writing to pass on my own experience after FINALLY installing a D2Sun v1.5 Modchip, as one novice to any others.

After battling through the dozen or so screws and carefully inserting the modchip. the drive would not recognise any disc with the remote switch on (steady blue light). However, by switching it off, it played original games.

The main conflicting information printed on the circuit board was that PAL requires all 4 dip switches set to OFF, however, D2C2 says to have them all ON - but that is Korean setting.

I tried both combinations without success for a couple of hours and was about to throw the modchip away and buy another chip.

Whilst looking at several websites (and forums) I came across a diagram that refers to PAL (D2C2) settings 1 & 2 ON, 3 & 4 OFF. Success!

Not exactly plug & play, but with this knowledge I hope others will have a quicker and smoother installation.

Thanks - this worked for me too

I had the same problem with the DVD Drive basically dying when the v1.5 D2Sun chip was turned on.

I have a D2C chipset and had tried the chip with that configuration. When I used the configuration that is suggested above this worked for me and it now runs fine.

    Thanks for the tip.
