D2SUN 1.5 Install Help

Hey guys,
I have a D2C WII from the USA. I have 1,2,3 off and 4 ON. The chip was presoldered and I just clipped it on (with a lot of force). The Wii turns on fine, but with the chip turned on the drive wont spin and the light for the switch just flashes red really quick. With the switch turned off, the wii plays originals and the light on the switch flashes red slowly. What exactly do I need to do here?

sounds like the chip is messed up, try burn the upadater and if that doesnt work, reflash

I was under the impression that the 1.5 chip cannot be updated. How exactly would I update the D2SUN 1.5?

i dont know, i dont dable in d2sun, but any 3rd or so gen chip should be updateable via something usually a dvd

try looking at the pins on the clip they may be bent you will need a magnifier

Non of the D2Sun series is currently DVD upgradable. It is a feature that has been requested by a lot of users, so it will probably appear sometime in the future.

Have you checked your serial @ wiidrives.com? It is possible that you have a D2C2 drive. Try setting the switches to D2C2 and see if that works for you.

I did actually. I tryed every setting to be exact. I contacted the company. The few threads I read online indicated that the chip is probably defective. Im going to return it and try out the wiikey2. It sucks but thats what I have to do

Just to follow up with this post- I RMA'd the old chip and got a new one in the mail. Works perfect now! I guess I just got a faulty chip the first time around.
