Also, how old is your burner? I once had a customer who's burner could burn no faster than 2X, but once he purchased a new burner all his playback issues were resolved.

If you should need to get a new burner, the Pioneer series is good, as is the LG series. I have one of each and I've no problems with discs from either one.
I think that's the opposite of conventional wisdom around here...
the slower the better. I burn at 2.4x (slowest my drive can go) always, 100% success with around 40cds burned.

Sounds like he just had a really old burner, not a speed problem.

Check your firmware version, If it is v3.3 and above, and you backups are created from a scrubbed ISO, this thing happens. Because V3.3 and above firmware blocks trunca signed Disc

Have you tried using GeckOS to load game. Also sometimes game requires a newer revision (not version) of a Wii Firmware. For instance I hears that Samba De Amigo required an revision update to 3.2 (it still keeps it at 3.2) for the game to work.

Hey thanks. I think you actually solved my problem. I think that the few disks that haven't worked were scrubbed down. I'm going to try a non-scrubbed and see what happens.

Well, I tried an unscrubbed MK but it still gives me a blackscreen after the health warning. That is, I still have to use HBC.
