wii does not load

thanks hybrid,
atleast someone is helping.

I took out the J1 but there is nothing happening. It is as if the cdrom is dead. the wii boots properly. i get the forcast channel, the mii channel, shopping network etc but it wont take a cd/dvd in. I took out the chip and everything is working fine. maybe i did not take the J1 out properly. Would it do that with the J1? One more thing. After putting the mod chip in do i have to install anything, any programs etc? Even though i have a wii-clip attaching itself to the main board chip do I still need to solder extra wires?

the dvd does not do anything so no noise of any kind.

Thanks

OK, so we've established that by removing the clip, the Wii works fine and reads originals? If that is the case then something is definately shorting out, or not making the proper contact.

Try removing the D2Sun from the clip, and wiring it directly to the board. If you're nervous about soldering, use [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] diagram to solder the I point to the underside via, and the normal diagram for the K point.

Just to verify, you have the followings points bridged for your D2C2 chipset: K1, K2, K4. Also make doubly sure that all solder is removed as best as possible from J1. Even the slightest bit that connects the 2 pads will still cause the chip to believe that its trying to inject code into a DMS console, rather than the D2C2 that you have. Use a lot of flux, and solder braid to clean up that pad

Can you take a picture of the D2Sun & Clip?

I had the very same problem on a D2B (cut leg) wii, I took the chip off the clip and soldered direct to the main board. This cured the problem straight away with no other changes needed.

The 1.3a is very easy to solder direct, and only 7 wires to solder.

Ca Wii problem

Hey I modded my brand new Wii today with a D2Sun 1.31. chip. but now I have a problem. When I insert a game nothing happens, those Wii/gamecube disc pictures do not spin, they just stay still and I can not eject the disc. Then when I turn the console off and back on again the game will load up and play but as soon as I eject the the game and try to put another one in either the console wont take the disc or it will and nothing happens again. I have to turn the console off and on again in order to play. If anyone can help me out with this problem it would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Clip or Wire install?
  • What revision is your Wii?
  • Are the switches set correctly?
  • Do you have a picture of the install?

Do you have a D2C, D2C2, D2E, DMS, D2A, or D2B console?
