OK, so we've established that by removing the clip, the Wii works fine and reads originals? If that is the case then something is definately shorting out, or not making the proper contact.
Try removing the D2Sun from the clip, and wiring it directly to the board. If you're nervous about soldering, use
[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] diagram to solder the I point to the underside via, and the normal diagram for the K point.
Just to verify, you have the followings points bridged for your D2C2 chipset: K1, K2, K4. Also make doubly sure that all solder is removed as best as possible from J1. Even the slightest bit that connects the 2 pads will still cause the chip to believe that its trying to inject code into a DMS console, rather than the D2C2 that you have. Use a lot of flux, and solder braid to clean up that pad
