    D2SUN 1.3 problems.. Help :( :(

Having problems modding my Wii with 3.3E firmware,

I have tried to install D2SUN 1.3 + Wiiclip on my Wii and it doesn’t work. I have tried different settings and modes (DMS, D2B) but it still doesn’t work.

The Wii powers up normally but when I tried to insert a disc, the disc drive doesn’t work or take the any disc IN for it to load.

Do I have to downgrade the Wii for it to work or am I doing it wrong

Any solution will help me a lot and I thank you in advance.

I don't know too much about modchips since I'm relatively new in this (got my Wii modded yesterday), but maybe the firmware does have something to do with this since some dvds are trucha signed and v3.3 doesn't let you read them, sometimes even with a modchip.

So I'd recommend downgrading to v3.2 for the best homebrew/modchip experience.

Also, try and check if you installed it right and keep trying. Good luck! I'm sorry that's all I can say to help. You might want to wait until Dark Mod answers this.

Take a look at the dip-switch settings and look along the D2E row and match it to your region, that will tell you what the dip-switch settings should be on yours.

what chipset do you have? u gotta short J1 if u have dms..it could also be a faulty clip or take the clip off and look at the pins.....a lot of times these pins get bent when not installed properly the first time so repeated attempts with a bent pin wont do any good

Hi jbloggs & GMODZ, Thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated!

Do you guys think the 3.3E firmware is causing this problem?

According to Wii S/N tracker, my Wii (S/N: LEH106725**[9]) has DMS chipset. When I originally bought the mod chip, I gave the guy my Wii S/N and he recommended the D2SUN 1.3.

If you guys have any further help, please let me know.

    Thanks

Sorry in my previous response I thought you had D2E, should have read your post carefully. Anyway in the diagram it says to short the J1 point which is required for the DMS drive type, is this already shorted on yours?
