D2Pro9 - D2C wii can't load backups - Wiihacks

Hello,

I just bought a "D2PRO9 rev 2.0 with WiiClip V4C-3 Presoldered. - for D2C & D2C2 ~ New Improved Clip Design" from canadamods last week. I just got it yesterday. Anyway I installed it and this is what I got.

1. It usually flashes red then blue then nothing...and always gives me the unknown disc error on backups, boots originals fine.

2. Sometimes it would flash red then blue then nothing, after a short while it would flash red and stay red. After that I usually get the wii error asking me to eject disc and restart, when I do either it happens again or it does the red and blue flash only.

3.It won't light at all, and I still get the unknown disc error. still boots originals fine.

These results I got with my wii open and I have tried to reseat the mod a few times. and the results are very random. I would get (1) and restart it to get 2 or 3 or get 2 and restart it to 1

I also read in their website

"A newer version is available here and resolves any issues any old d2pro9 had. http://www.canadamods.ca/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=54"

Does that mean I have the old one that has issues?
Btw my chip has the blue sticker and 9 points are soldiered

check what version you got. maybe you have a "new" version and the code is still buggy. Or maybe you don't have it seated properly

Did you make sure that the clip was seated firmly on the drive chip, the clip should almost be touching the pcb board of the wii drive board. Also don't keep taking the clip on and off it will get too loose.

I only tried reseating it 3 times. I did make sure it's almost touching the pcb board. I don't know the difference between d2pro9-v2/3. I thought it was just firmware difference. I can't use the utility disc since that gives me the unknow disc error.

Shouldn't flashing red then blue mean it's working pefectly. if that is the case why aren't backup loading.
Also when loading gecko and I try to load the games that way, I get a no dvd message.
The backups I got were working great on my friends chipped wii, so that rules out the media or burning problems.

edit: Looking at some videos of D2pro9 working I noticed a few things, my modchip only flashes red and blue after I turn it on, it never flashes when I insert a backup or a game. Also I don't see that light flickering after the game starts loading (it never loads).

I also got a D2pro9 from canada mods about a week ago, and have the same problems.I cannot get originals or backups to play, I keep getting an error code when i have the chip in place, but originals work fine when the chip is off. Let me know if you solve your problem, as it might help me. Thanks

well, the proof is in the video I guess. Looks like the install is fine. Unless your clip is defective, I think D2Pro's "fix" is due for another update.

either that or the clip is having some nasty issues..cause I bet if you install the chip using the wire method, she will play.
