Red face D2Pro9 V3 w/ Wiiclip

So I've been researching a lot and I can't see to find anything on the install of a D2pro9 v3 with a wiiclip on a D2E board. How different is it? What if I have the epoxy on my board? I'm going to open it up this weekend and make sure, but this is a just in case question. Do I have to solder the one cable that Gmodz talks about or is there more?

There is quite a lot of posts in the D2Pro9 section of the forums regarding installs in the D2E wiis.

If you don't have the Epoxy then I believe now the D2Pro9v3 it a total solderless solution using the WiiClip, but if you have Epoxy then, unless you are brave and want to tackle it yourself, its going to require a professional to install the chip.

yes i wouldnt recommend doing the epoxy version urself. as for d2e we find the wasabi 2 have been more stable and they are 100% solderless.

That's why I am definitely going to open this up tonight to verify, because reading serial numbers, Lu358853167, I'm seeing other people with D2E serial numbers and they're nowhere near what mine is. I checked on Gmodz site and it's saying I have a D2E as well, but the nintendo-scene site is saying 50% chance of D2C.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to open it up.

I guess the only other question I have is how do you know you'll need to solder the one wire for the d2pro9 w/clip? If it doesn't work when you first install it and make sure its seated correctly?

We just got the latest v3 version with 2.3/1.6 firmware and its solid. It works on all drives without any issues from what we tested so far. It will replace the v2 d2pro9 now. Since it works on d2c/d2c2/d2e perfectly you shouldnt have to worry about what chipset you have.

Yep it will just work. You can also order our v3 for a d2c/d2c2 now and it will also just work.
