Congrats on installing your chip properly. I'm actually expecting the same chip (D2Pro9) with the latest firmware of course and I believe I may have the same model Wii because I purchased it recently and got the same results for those websites as you.

Can you just elaborate a little on when you knew the clip was installed. I understand this is the most important part and I see reports of people messing it up because they are not careful. I saw the Canadamods video but its a bit ambiguous on how much to push down. Can't push down too little because inching may occur. Too much and you may damage something. Is there an actual 'clicking' sound? Or is it to the point where you can't push down much further? Is the Wii board suppose to bend downward during this process or does that mean you are doing it too hard?

there is no click sound when you put on the clip....just push down evenly and you will see the clip almost touch the pcb board

Gmodz, thanks for the pic! Just purchased my solderless D2Pro9 from you guys and can't wait to install it. So at this point (where the clip is almost touching the board), will I feel that I won't be able to go down further?

Also, up until that point, is there a lot of resistance or is it smooth? I ask because if theres a lot of resistance when there shouldn't be, I would know its not properly aligned and would stop and start over as oppose to continuing and damaging something.

Its hard to say how much to push down. U shouldn't see the pcb board flexing. People run into problems because they don't alighn the clip properly which bends the pins.

I got a D2PROCLIP D2Pro9 rev 3 + WiiClip V4C-3 presoldered from GMODZ INC., it didnt work with D2E chip, but it works fine on wii with D2C. I was experiencing disc eject issues and no spin up on D2E. When I ordered the D2PRO from GMODZ I specified wii with D2C, but should that matter I thought the chip works on the D2E as well? Do I need to do the one wire mod? Or as suggested by Dark Mod I should try the D2 SUN.

Well, I've seen others with the same model Wii that bought the D2Pro9 recently and it worked for them. I'm in your same shoes because I have that model and I got it from GModz. I heard of this problem where a particular chip may not work for a particular Wii. Its just strange to me.

Would another D2Pro9 solderless possibly work or would he have to try out another chip (e.g. Wasabi, D2Sun, etc.)? I'm asking those who had experience with this problem before. Unless the D2E problem could be solved by soldering the extra wire included...

Yes I got problems like that but I solve it by rebuilding the chip over. Actually the D2pro v3 will work on SOME D2E drives but will have major problems with a few of the drives (I don't know why) but the D2sun don't have any issues in both the good D2E drives and some of the troublesome drives.
