Drive locked after installing D2PRO WII-CLIP
Hi,i have just installed my D2PRO WII-CLIP(from consolxtreme) on my wii that is a D2B with pins cut.The clip just continuosly flashes red, blue, red, blue and never stops! Checked it is put on properly and it is secure and flush to the board, which it is.
Put original disc in but didnt load.Next i ried without the wii clip installed but again it didnt load, had trouble ejecting it but managed to get the disc out.Now i cant even put a disc in,the drive seems like its locked!
Tried disconnecting the drive cable and reconnecting, got a few noises like the drive is trying to do something then nothing.
Have searched the forums but am still not sure of my problem and if it can be fixed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Wayne.
Ok,solved the problem with the locked drive without the wii clip installed, seemed the ribbon connected to the drive wasnt secure enough.
But with wii-clip installed i still get the flashing red, blue, red, blue all the time and the drive wont take the disc in,you can push the disc in manually but it doesnt want to take it in.Hope i have explained that ok.
Cheers.
wayne.

Are points C, D, E, and F soldered on the wii-clip? they're not supposed to be if you have a D2B
If that's not the problem, then desolder CLK and solder point J from the wii-clip to point J on the install diagram (you can find it on wii-clip.com on the v4c page).
If THAT doesn't work, get a d2prog and update your chip to the latest firmware

Thanks for the advice.
No,points c,d,e and f are not soldered.G,H AND J are.
I will dig out my soldering kit tomorrow and try de-soldering CLK and connecting the J points to see if that makes a difference.
Its strange,i did a search about the continious flashing red and blue lights and could'nt find anyone mentioning that problem, feel like im the only one.Hope it can be fixed!
Thanks

Ok,i have de-soldered the CLK,connected the two J points with the small wire that came with the chip and still nothing.
All i get is blue and red flashing continuous lights and the drive doesnt even respond. If i take the D2pro9 off then the drive comes back to life and im able to play my originals as normal.
I dont have a D2prog yet to update the chips firmware and would only buy one if that is definately the solution as i feel like i have been wasting money on modding my wii and dont want to chuck more money away only for it not to work.
Can anybody help please?Anyone know why my chip keeps flashing red and blue non stop!?

Anybody got any ideas?
I dont think its a fake as it has numbers on the inside of the black clip and has a blue d2pro sticker on the back.

yeah on that case it sucks.. the money u would spend to send it to me,
would not be worth it after all.. then look for a installer in your town..
it would be a better deal for you.. these clips.. not worth it most of the times..

I have not heard of those symptoms before, it could be that the modchip has gone bad. May be a local installer may help you out by updating and checking out the chip.
