    D2pro V9 resources firmware

So I am going to buy a modded wii and it has the d2prov9 mod chip. I've done my research and the seller tells me it has eject issues. What I'm suspecting is that the chip doesnt have the newest firmware to fix this issue. When I go to the d2pro resources site though there is a memo next to the firmware saying "9-wire Firmware v2.3 Firmware - NOT for use on drives with d2e chipsets" I'm not sure what chipset this wii has yet but I'll post more tonight when I have it in my hands. I've already ordered a d2prog to possibly flash the chip but i've read that the d2prov9v3 chip doesnt need d2prog to update firmware? Please correct me if I am wrong. If my wii is a d2e chipset how am I to fix this eject issue?

your help and expertise is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

So I have the serial number and it says that the drive is a d2c2. So I'm ok with the firmware upgrade. The eject issue is that sometimes the disc wont eject. Once I get the d2prog I'll run the firmware upgrade and later tonight I'll run the utility disc to see what firmware the chip currently has on it.

I ran the utility disc this weekend and found out some things...firmware for wii is 3.3u, which I want to Downgrade to 3.2, firmware for d2proV9 is 2.0 whcih I will have to upgrade via d2proG once I get it. utility disc ran fine and upgraded to 1.7. So now I'm just waiting for my d2proG. But I do have a question about that. When flashing the wii by using the d2proG do I have to run usb cable all the way to where my wii is hooked up to the tv? Or in other words do I have to have the wii hooked up to at v and power source when flashing the d2proV9 firmware. NO real instructions on the site on how to perform the flash.

Guess i can simpy bring the wii to me and the puter.

    Instructions
    ============

    1. If the d2pro chip is already installed in a Wii console then
disconnect the power cable to wii.

    2. Disconnect d2prog from the USB cable.

    3. Connect the flat flexible cable to d2prog (and to d2pro if you have
    not done so already).

Be VERY CAREFUL when connecting the cable and make sure that is in

place properly. If the cable is misaligned and the Vcc (power) and

ground lines are shorted d2pro or d2prog could be damaged.

    4. Connect the USB cable to d2prog.

    5. Run the updater software. It can be run without parameters for

fully interactive mode, or with the following switches:

    usage: ./d2prog [-v] [-n] [-y] [-f <num>]

    -v verify only

    -n flash only, don't verify

    -y start flashing immediately

    -f <num> select firmware

Run without parameters for fully interactive mode.

    -h brings up the help.

    6. Disconnect USB cable and then d2prog. (done!)
