D2PRO and Wii Firmware Version Effects

I have been looking for information on the site that describes the different releases of Wii console firmware (3.2U, 3.3U and 3.4U) and the possible effects on installing a WiiMod Chip. So, it is pretty clear that it would be good to be on the 3.2U Firmware when installing a ModChip. But, I was looking at information on what risk you run by installing a D2PRO with the 3.3U. Is there games that dont work? Is there anything about these Firmware releases that make the mod chip behave differently on a console? THis may not be important but i wanted to check.

theres no differences, for chips, it all affects homebrew, which you got to pick what you want more Homebrew or effort

dont go past 3.3 since 3.4 has a new TOS which lets nintendo update without your permission ALSO, please note some games require updates, but you can install them via wads, just search around if u got a game issue

    Cool clarification

So, I am safe and sound to use the d2Pro V.3 (installed on a clip from CanadaMods) on my Wii (NTSC) which currently is at 3.4U? I am waiting on the arrival of the Mod chip (ordered two days ago and being that I am in California it might be a few days more) and just want to be as close to 100% sure that I can just install the chip and be good to go. And one last question, I use a Mac and was wondering if there are any compatibility issues with game burning (ISO) and the Mac OS? I have XP (using VMFusion) to run IMGburn but was just wondering if there are Mac specific apps to handle disc burning etc.? Thank you in advance for all the great knowledge I have obtained thus far.

I have D2pro installed. Was fine on System 3.4. Have Just updated to 4.0. It has trouble processing the audio of quantum of solace now.

Have tried on TDK and Verbatim DVD-R. Same problems on both media.

The same discs are fine on a D2sun pro. Any Ideas?

For the slowest burning I use the Terminal (disk utility should work fine but it may not make the slowest speeds selectable).
    1. Open a terminal window (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal).
    2. type 'hdiutil burn -verifyburn -speed 1 ' (note the space at the end).
    3. From Finder, drop the .iso file onto the terminal window (this types the full path to the file in the terminal.
    4. Press return and wait for burning and verifying to finish

NB I use an external Firewire burner so I use a slightly different command
'hdiutil burn -verifyburn -speed 1 -device `hdiutil burn -list | fgrep IOFireWireController` '
(the bit in backticks is required to get the technical name of the burner)

    Question

Hi Guys, My first post, I see looking through this thread that it was mentioned that the Wii os doesn't matter with Hardmodded systems, I have recently done a couple of hard mods, but one says he is having trouble recognises the discs, some read in the disc/game channel and others don't!The games are on Verbs -r burned at x4, work fine on mine (V3.3e or V3.4e os) he's is running 3.1e, could this have a bearing on recognising the discs? I have installed the D2Pro/9 V3 (both systems are D2E drive chipset). Is it worth upgrading to 3.2e and if so, can it be done via DVD with the chip in, or is it worth going higher to 3.3e or 3.4e? i assume no point in going to v4.0?

Please note I have not done ANY softmods to either. I was under the impression that the chip should PNP with any os? Am I wrong?

    Help would be gratefully apreciated.
